An outdoor kitchen can be as simple as a built-in BBQ with a counter, or a full setup with a grill, side burners, sink, fridge, storage and a bar counter. The layout follows how you cook and entertain: where guests sit, where the smoke goes, and how far the kitchen is from the house.
Materials must cope with sun, heat and the occasional rain: stone, outdoor porcelain or sealed concrete counters, stainless steel suitable for outdoor use, and cabinets that will not swell or fade. Placing the kitchen under a pergola or other shade makes it usable for more of the year.
Gas, water, drainage and electricity have to be planned and installed safely. Gas in particular must follow the applicable safety rules and your community's requirements; we coordinate this with the partner contractor and include it clearly in the quote.

Approvals and NOC
A freestanding BBQ rarely needs paperwork, but a built-in kitchen with a structure, a gas connection or new plumbing may need an NOC from the developer or community management, and gas installations must follow the applicable safety rules. We check the requirements in DAMAC Lagoons before starting.

Gas or charcoal BBQ for an outdoor kitchen?
Gas is quicker and easier to clean; charcoal gives a different flavour. Some kitchens include both. Gas needs a safe supply and must follow the applicable rules.
