How we approach it

Synthetic grass is one of the most common requests for Dubai villa gardens: it stays green all year, needs no mowing and uses no irrigation water. A good result depends less on the turf itself than on what is underneath: the old surface removed, the ground levelled and compacted, a crushed-stone or sand base laid for drainage, and the edges fixed so the grass does not lift or move.

The right product depends on use. Children and pets need a dense, resilient pile and good drainage; a decorative front garden can use a softer, finer look. In full sun, any turf surface gets hot in the summer months, so we talk about shade, product choice and keeping planting or a shaded seating area nearby.

If you prefer real grass, we look at sun exposure, soil preparation and irrigation first: natural grass in Dubai needs regular water and care, and grows best where it gets sun and the irrigation is well designed.

What affects the price

  • Garden area and shape: curves, beds and obstacles take more cutting and labour
  • Condition of the existing ground and what has to be removed first
  • Base needed for drainage and levelling
  • Turf product: pile height, density, backing and colour
  • Edging and joints with tiles, pool coping or planting beds
  • Access to the garden for materials and removal of waste

We do not publish standard prices: every villa is different. After the free visit, you receive a written quote with each item and product named.

Typical steps

  1. 1Visit: we look at the garden, the sun, the drainage and how you use the space.
  2. 2Samples and quote: you see and touch turf samples, then receive a written quote with the product named.
  3. 3Preparation: the ground is cleared, levelled and compacted on a drainage base.
  4. 4Laying: the turf is laid, joined, fixed at the edges and brushed.
  5. 5Final check: we walk across the finished lawn with you before handover.

Approvals and NOC

Replacing grass is usually simpler than structural works, but many communities still have rules on contractor access, working hours and waste removal, and some ask to be notified before works. We check what applies in your community before the works start.

Most Dubai master communities require an NOC or permit from the developer or community management for pools, pergolas and structural works. Requirements, documents and timing vary between communities and can change, so we check them for your villa before the works are planned.

Materials from Europe and Saudi Arabia

We propose turf from European and Saudi suppliers suited to strong sun and heat; the exact product is written on your quote.

Who carries out the works

We design and coordinate your project. The works are carried out and invoiced by our partner contractor, whose name and details are on your quote: you always know who does the work and who you pay.

Frequently asked questions

Does synthetic grass get hot in summer in Dubai?

Yes. Any synthetic turf in direct sun gets hot in summer, more than natural grass. Shade, the choice of product and where the lawn is placed all help. We talk this through at the visit so you choose with full information.

Is synthetic grass a good choice with children and pets?

Many families choose it for that reason: no mud and no mowing. With pets, good drainage under the turf and occasional rinsing matter most. We recommend a product made for heavy use.

Can synthetic grass be laid on top of my existing lawn?

Not directly. The old grass and roots are removed first, then the ground is levelled and a base is laid; otherwise the surface becomes uneven and drains badly.

Synthetic or natural grass: which should I choose?

Synthetic grass needs no irrigation and little care. Natural grass is cooler underfoot and feels like a real lawn, but needs water, sun and regular maintenance. Our guide compares both, and the two can be combined in one garden.
